The GypFloor SILENT Floor Channel SIF1 is a specialist acoustic floor system component aimed at groundworkers, contractors, and site managers involved in residential conversions and new builds. It provides a robust solution to upgrade existing timber joist floors, improving sound insulation to meet Building Regulations requirements without major structural changes. Application

This channel is primarily used to enhance the acoustic performance of separating floors in residential projects, such as conversions or improvements, where impact noise reduction is critical. It is suitable for upgrading existing timber joist floors or installing in new builds to deliver superior sound insulation between rooms. The built-in neoprene strip isolates impact noise like footfall and furniture movement, reducing noise transfer to rooms below. When combined with Gypframe RB1 Resilient Bars, the system further isolates ceiling linings, delivering a comprehensive acoustic solution. This system allows improvements in fire and sound performance with minimal disruption, even where access is limited to above the floor.
