Thermally Broken Lintels

THERMALLY BROKEN LINTELS

Thermally broken steel lintels, including IG and Catnic Hi-Therm models, are engineered for masonry cavity wall construction. Designed to provide strong structural support over doors, windows, and other openings, these advanced lintels significantly reduce linear thermal bridging and minimise heat loss, helping improve overall building energy performance.

Each lintel features galvanised steel elements positioned around a high-performance expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation core, ensuring exceptional strength, improved insulation, and long-lasting durability. Ideal for both residential and commercial builds, thermally broken lintels are a smart choice for projects striving to meet modern efficiency standards.

Thermally broken steel lintels such as the IG, Keystone, and Catnic Thermally Broken Lintels (or Hi-Therm) are used in masonry cavity wall construction. When compared to traditional cavity lintels, it offers support over structural openings such as doors and windows while minimising linear thermal bridging heat loss. The system is comprised of Galvanized steel components on either side of an expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation core.
