Application

This lintel is designed for use in cavity wall construction where extra heavy duty load-bearing capacity is essential. It supports large openings such as wide window or door frames in cavity walls with a wide outer leaf, typically 125-150mm blockwork. To ensure optimum performance, the outer leaf block should not extend beyond the lintel flange by more than 25mm. Propping the lintel during construction is recommended to facilitate quicker, safer build progress. Mortar bedding above the blockwork ensures even load distribution before floor units are laid.
