Application

Specifically engineered for supporting timber joists in studwork, flooring frameworks, and plasterboard ceilings, the SPHS12547 joist hanger provides stable load transfer between joists and supporting walls or beams. It is widely used in both new builds and refurbishment projects where reliable fixing and alignment of joists are critical.

Installation Requirements: The back of the hanger must fit tightly against the wall, with joists cut square and a maximum 6mm gap from the rear of the hanger. A minimum of 675mm of set masonry should be present over the support flange before applying loads. Joists are to be fixed through the side gusset using 3.75x30mm square twisted nails. Additionally, the underside of joists should be notched to provide a level surface for plasterboarding.
