Details

The Expamet 589D3000 is a specialist 19mm external movement bead designed for plastering applications where controlled expansion and contraction are critical. Supplied in boxes of 14 lengths measuring 3000mm each, this galvanised bead offers reliable protection against cracking on external render and plaster joints. Please note, this product is not suitable for exposed coastal locations or corrosive environments, and should not be used with gypsum-based plasters.

Application

This movement bead is ideal for use on external walls where expansion joints are required to accommodate thermal and structural movement without compromising the render finish. Its perforated wings provide excellent keying into the plaster, reducing the risk of cracks forming around joints. The integrated PVC strip allows for controlled movement and acts as a barrier against water ingress, helping to maintain the integrity of the external cladding. It is best fixed at intervals no greater than 600mm and care should be taken to avoid damage during trowelling or cleaning.
