Details

Expamet 76820 Exmet Coils are stainless steel reinforcement strips supplied in a bundle of five, each coil measuring 20 metres long by 65mm wide. Engineered for builders and contractors working on plastering and dry lining, these coils provide reliable crack resistance in masonry around vulnerable areas such as windows and door openings. Please note, this product is supplied as a bundle of 5 coils.

Application

These stainless steel Exmet coils are designed to be fixed into chases within masonry to reinforce plasterwork where stress concentrations commonly cause cracking. They should be installed in a staggered pattern with fixings spaced at 300mm intervals and positioned 5-6mm off the substrate to allow plaster to fully embed the mesh. When used over dissimilar materials, isolating the plaster from the background with building paper is recommended. These coils are not suitable for use over movement joints.
