Details

The Catnic CXL290 is a specialist extreme load cavity wall lintel, designed for builders and contractors requiring reliable support in heavy-duty structural openings. Ideal for cavity walls with 90-105mm width and inner leaf thickness of 110-115mm, this lintel combines strength with corrosion resistance thanks to its galvanised steel finish. Please note a separate flexible damp proof course (DPC) must be installed during construction.

Application

This lintel is suited to high-load situations such as large window and door openings or structural walls in commercial and residential projects. It supports masonry above while maintaining cavity integrity and prevents moisture bridging when installed with the required DPC. Its robust design ensures dependable performance on serious builds where structural safety is paramount.

Optional extras include lintels with expanded metal mesh fixed to the base plate for enhanced bonding with masonry. Ensure the lintel is laterally restrained with 200mm end bearing supports and an inner to outer load ratio between 5:1 and 19:1 to achieve rated load performance.
