Details

The Catnic CXL240 Extreme Load Cavity Wall Lintel at 5750mm is engineered for demanding structural projects where exceptional load-bearing capacity is essential. Ideal for builders, contractors, and site managers working with cavity walls between 50 and 65mm wide and inner leafs of 110 to 115mm, this lintel combines strength with corrosion resistance thanks to its galvanised finish. Please note a separate flexible DPC must be installed during construction to ensure durability.

Application

This lintel is designed specifically for heavy-duty cavity wall applications where high structural loads are present. It’s suitable for use in residential and commercial projects requiring robust support over openings such as windows and doors. To achieve the stated load capacities, ensure the lintel is laterally restrained with a minimum 200mm bearing at each end and maintain inner to outer leaf load ratios between 5:1 and 19:1. An optional expanded metal mesh can be added for enhanced base plate security if required.
