The Catnic CXL240 Extreme Load Cavity Wall Lintel at 5100mm is engineered for demanding structural applications where high load-bearing capacity is essential. Ideal for builders, contractors, and site managers working on cavity wall constructions with inner leaf thicknesses between 110-115mm and cavity widths of 50-65mm, this lintel combines strength with durability. Please note, a separate flexible damp proof course (DPC) must be installed during construction to ensure moisture protection.

Application

This lintel is specifically designed to support heavy loads above openings in cavity walls, such as doorways and large window frames. Its robust construction suits projects requiring exceptional strength, including commercial buildings and substantial residential developments. The lintel must be laterally restrained and installed with minimum 200mm end bearings to achieve rated load capacities. The inner to outer leaf load ratio should be maintained between 5:1 and 19:1 for optimal performance. For added reinforcement, an optional expanded metal mesh can be supplied secured to the base plate.
