Details

The Catnic CXL240 Extreme Load Cavity Wall Lintel at 3850mm is engineered for builders and contractors tackling demanding structural openings. Its robust design and galvanised steel construction make it a reliable choice for cavity walls with a 50-65mm gap and inner leaf thickness of 110-115mm. Please note a separate flexible DPC must be fitted on site to ensure proper moisture resistance.

Application

This lintel is tailored for use in heavy-duty cavity wall construction where high load-bearing capacity is critical. It suits openings in residential or commercial buildings requiring extreme support, such as over large windows, doors, or other structural apertures. To achieve the specified load ratings, the lintel must be laterally restrained, have minimum 200mm end bearing, and maintain inner to outer leaf load ratios between 5:1 and 19:1. Optional expanded metal mesh can be supplied fixed to the base plate for additional reinforcement.
