Details

The Catnic CXL240 Extreme Load Cavity Wall Lintel is engineered for builders and contractors tackling heavy structural loads in cavity wall construction. At 2300mm length, it offers robust support where durability and compliance with building standards are critical. Please note, a separate flexible DPC must be fitted during installation as this is not included.

Application

This lintel is designed for use in cavity walls with cavities between 50mm and 65mm and inner leaf thicknesses from 110mm to 115mm. Its extreme load rating makes it suitable for supporting heavy masonry above openings such as large windows, doors, and other structural elements in both commercial and residential projects. The lintel must be installed with a minimum 200mm end bearing and be laterally restrained to achieve the specified load capacity.

As an optional extra, Catnic CXL lintels can be supplied with expanded metal mesh fixed to the base plate to improve mortar keying where required. Ensure a separate flexible damp proof course (DPC) is installed during construction to prevent moisture ingress.
