Made from UV-stable extruded PVC-u, designed to withstand weather exposure over cavity wall openings.
Includes integral weep vents to effectively drain wind-driven rain from behind the brickwork.
Provides permanent, reliable centring for segmental arch installation on external cavity walls.
Important: Remove protective wrapping before installation and do not use if damaged.

Details

The Catnic Arch Centre is a specialist PVC-u arch unit designed for use over openings in external cavity walls, both traditional and timber frame. It provides a durable, permanent centring solution for the construction of segmental brick arches, ensuring reliability on site. Please note: the arch centre should be removed from its protective wrapping before installation and must not be used if damaged.

Application

Primarily used by builders and contractors for forming brick arches over doorways, windows, or other openings in external cavity walls. Its design simplifies the construction process by offering a stable, accurate guide for bricklayers, while the built-in weep vents help prevent moisture buildup by allowing wind-driven rain to escape. This product is well-suited for both traditional masonry and modern timber frame builds where cavity wall construction is employed.

For best results, ensure the arch centre and lintel surfaces are clean and dry before installation. Position the unit centrally over the opening and trim the front drip section at the bearing end to accommodate thin mortar joints and improve finish appearance. The arch centre accommodates structural openings within ±25mm tolerance. Available in lengths from 425mm to 3175mm in 50mm increments with either 75mm or 150mm rise options.
