Details

The Catnic Arch Centre is a specialist PVC-u arch unit designed for builders and contractors working on external cavity walls. With a 1725mm span and 75mm rise, it provides a reliable and permanent centring solution for the construction of brick segmental arches. Its durable, weather-resistant design makes it ideal for both traditional and timber frame builds. Please note, the product is supplied as a single unit and must be checked for correct sizing before installation.

Application

This arch centre is used primarily to support brickwork over openings such as windows and doors in cavity wall construction. Its design simplifies the building of segmental arches by providing a stable formwork that remains in place permanently. The built-in weep vent system ensures effective drainage of wind-driven rainwater that may penetrate the external wall skin, helping to maintain the cavity’s integrity and prevent moisture build-up.

Important installation notes: Do not use damaged units. Remove protective wrapping before fitting and ensure surfaces are clean and dry. Position the arch centre centrally on the lintel as specified, trimming the front drip section where necessary for a neat finish. Each arch centre accommodates structural opening tolerances of ±25mm. Various sizes are available in 50mm increments between 425mm and 3175mm spans, with rises of 75mm or 150mm.
